I am writing on behalf of the Orleans Fire Department Building Project. We are starting a 3-year capital campaign to raise the funds needed to provide an improved fire hall facility in Orleans, Nebraska providing a building that will ensure safety and fire prevention for the community, for years to come .One of the many parts of the Capital Campaign is to raise funds locally. As a benefit to you as a donor we will be applying to the State of Nebraska for state tax credits to be given to the first $62,500 pledged each year for the next three years. These tax credits are being applied for by Republican River Valley Community Foundation, on behalf of the affiliation with the Orleans Fire & Rescue Department, so your donation would also be receiving Federal tax credits. If we have more then $62,500 in pledges each year the amount that goes over will not receive the state of Nebraska tax credit, but the Federal charitable donation will still be valid.Right now all we need from you is a firm pledge of what you will donate. Please fill out the enclosed pledge form and return it to us as soon as possible. When we have the needed number of pledges showing evidence that a demand exists for the requested tax credits the application will be sent in to the state of Nebraska. Upon approval we will send you a form to fill out to be returned with your fulfilled pledge.All contributions made prior to the date of the contract with the Department of Economic Development are not eligible for tax credits from the state.This is a multi-year project so pledges will be needed for each year.
