Policy on Chronic Waste Disease

Chronic Waste Disease (CWD) has been detected in several states in big game animals (deer & elk). Harlan County Meat Processors will not knowingly accept any game animal showing signs or symptoms of CWD. We will report any suspect animal to the authorities.

Harlan County Meat Processors is proud to provide hunters with quality meat processing. We take pride in the safe and sanitary handling of your animals and the cleanliness of our facilities and equipment. We, in no way, can guarantee your animal does or does not have CWD, and we do not assume responsibility for testing or failure to test for CWD. Testing may be done by game agencies or by the sporstmen, but not in this facility.
